Costa Rica Waterfall Hike: Rio Celeste

Rio Celeste Hike

From Peninsula Papagayo: 2 hours each way in the Viridian Experience sprinter van

What to expect:

The Río Celeste waterfall is near the Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanoes and is becoming an increasingly popular area to visit in Costa Rica for hiking. Once you arrive, you will begin a hike through the dense, lush, tropical rainforest that surrounds the #TenorioNationalPark. You and your nature guide can go at your own pace, and you'll learn interesting things about the rainforest along the way. When we arrive to Los Tenideros, where two rivers come together, you'll be amazed at the celestial turquoise blue water color that comes from the waterfall. The brilliant color you can see above is what you can expect when you plan according to weather. It is important to note that if it is raining this blue doesn't twinkle the same color. Our Viridian Experience team will be with you at Casa Caiman and Villa Nambi to plan all of your adventures and avoid any bad weather days.

What to bring:

Clothes that can get wet, hiking shoes, rain gear, water bottle, change of clothes, insect repellent, sun block.

Duration: This is a full day tour, approximately 7-8 hours

Ages: 8 and up
